Where Is Cyanogenmod 12?

As of today, 3rd January 2015, there is no official release of Cyanogenmod 12. In case you don't know Cyanogen stated in a blog post back in November, that they would start rolling out nightlies for CM 12 in early December.
Since November, Cyanogen's blog has been silent. Nothing has been posted. There's no word on the delay. The past few months have been tough for Cyanogen. They got a lot of heat when they announced that they won't be supporting Indian Oneplus One users. On social networks like Twitter, the same thing is evident. In the comment section of the blog post many commentators are making assumptions as to when CM 12 might drop. Some are furious others are curious.
Cyanogenmod is considered as the base of 3rd party android developments. Cyanogenmod has always brought new and unique features on the table. What's even more important is that not everyone's Android phone is guaranteed an update to the latest software. Cyanogenmod brings the latest software to even the oldest hardware. Some key features that Cyanogenmod offers like the theme chooser are missing from current lollipop roms because the official version of CM 12 hasn't dropped as of yet.
In my opinion, Cyanogen should've at least informed of the reason for the delay. Silence like this isn't normal from a fully functioning company. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we can get Cyanogenmod 12 for our beloved Android phones and tablets as soon as possible.
