Instagram Is A Disaster

Instagram has been around for 4 years. Despite this fact, the network is over powered by spam. Back in 2013, Facebook bought the network for $1 Billion. If you use Instagram you might have encountered 'suspicious' users liking and commenting on your photos.

Despite recent efforts Instagram is still infected with spam.

Instagram announced their plan to delete any accounts which were marked as spam, most of them being 'fake followers'. Despite this fact, I still see spam accounts. When I use hastags to search, majority of the pictures that show up are from spam accounts. 

I've decided to stop using Instagram.

I was a very active Instagram user but my interest has decreased as the time has passed by. I don't enjoy using Instagram anymore. I post a picture, I get 'people' commenting to 'check' them out. I browse my feed, I see this:

What is this?

At the current moment, Instagram is the most disgusting social network.

It's sad to say that a network being backed by a giant like Facebook, is probably the worst of all social networks. Instagram is the most simplest of all the social networks yet it seems its the hardest to manage. I can't think of a reason for Instagram's spam.

I want Instagram to be the way it used to back when it launched. I still remember scrolling through hundreds of spam free pictures, back in 2011, on my iPod Touch. 

Making your account private isn't the answer.

The thing I like about the Internet is that I get to engage with people from all around the world. I don't make any of my social networks private because that takes away the social factor. I don't want to see pictures of my friends who I meet everyday, instead I would like to know what people around the world are interested in. 

I hope that Instagram and Facebook can figure out a way to end spam once and for all. Spam is everywhere, but it's overpowering Instagram at the current moment.
