Kid suspended from school for threatening classmate with the One Ring

So apparently, and I don't know how I didn't know of this sooner, a 9-year-old kid from Texas got suspended from school for "threatning" a classmate with the One Ring, the magical ring from the Lord of The Rings franchise.

After watching the final installment in the Hobbit trilogy, Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies with his family, Aiden Stewart,  a nine-year-old kid from Texas, U.S.A., decided to use a ring similar to the One Ring and tell his friend that with it he could make the friend disappear. After knowing this, the principal of the Kermit Elementary School decided to suspend the kid. Yes, SUSPEND. Is it suspension worthy? No. Is it detention worthy? No, not even that. I don't understand this, seriously, I don't.

The father said: "I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence. If he did, I'm sure he'd bring him right back."

The kid had already been suspended twice. Once for calling one of his friends "black", which, in my opinion is not an insult, and the other for bringing an encyclopedia that contained a drawing of a pregnant woman. No, not porn, no, not an actual naked woman, a drawing of a pregnant woman.
There is something really wrong going on with schools in America.
