RSBrowser is a browser optimized for Snapdragon processors

I have tried a handful of Android internet browsers but I haven't been as happy with any of them as I've been with Chrome. Don't get me wrong, Chrome is a great browser but it isn't without flaws. I've found an even better option and I'm very happy with it: RSBrowser. I've been using it since the past few weeks and I am very impressed.

RSBrowser is a super-charged version of Chrome

Many of us have Snapdragon processors in our phones. Chrome is pretty stable but it isn't optimized to utilize the full potential of Snapdragon processors. That's where CAF (Code Aurora Forum) comes in. They've put up a project which allows developers to utilize the full potential of Snapdragon processors. The developer of RSBrowser has made it so that it has the functionality of Chrome while the performance of CAF's browser.

Apart from the great performance, RSBrowser has some added functionality over Chrome making it better option than Chrome.

For starters it has background audio support which means if you're watching a video on YouTube or any site which is outputting audio you can back out of the browser and the audio will keep running in the background as long as you haven't closed the tab and haven't cleared the browser from your recent apps.

Secondly it comes with a night mode. For those of you who don't know what night mode is, it's meant to make content viewed in darkness, look better. For example, reading an article at night with a white background such as this isn't very pleasing to your eyes. Night mode will make the white background to black which looks makes reading more enjoyable.

It also comes with an ad blocker which will stop those pesky pop up ads. Video player is also pretty sweet allowing you to control brightness and volume with swipes and giving the ability to lock the screen so that an accidental touch doesn't ruin your experience. And it comes with a power saving mode.

Features

To sum it up

  • RSBrowser looks great just like Chrome since it's based on Chromium.
  • It has better performance than Chrome since it's using CAF's optimized code.
  • It has all the functionality Chrome combined with a few tricks of its own.
  • It has been very stable on my aging Nexus 5.
  • Apart from the icon, I love every single thing about it.

TLDR;

RSBrowser may be the best Android browser for your Snapdragon powered device.
