Amazon Fire will probably fail

So, two days back Amazon announced the Amazon 'Fire' phone. We had so many leaks and rumors of this phone and now that it's finally announced, we think its going to be an epic fail. Why?

The Price
It costs $199 on a two year contract (AT&T only) or a hefty $650 off-contract. Now to put that in perspective, the Galaxy S5, Samsung's current flagship costs just fifty dollars more at $700. Basically you can get any high end flagship in this price. When we compare specs with the S5, you find that the Fire lags behind. It has a smaller screen with a lower pixel density, it has an older, slower processor, and there’s no microSD card slot. It’s also heavier and lacks an eye-catching design. The camera should perform better in low light thanks to a wider aperture, it lags behind the 4K-shooting 16MP camera in the S5.

Features that set it apart
So here things get a little tricky. Amazon has came up with some 'innovative' features for the phone.
Amazon offers a service called 'Mayday' exclusive to the Fire phone. What it actually does is that it provides you with almost instant customer support if something goes wrong. So instead of Googling for solution you can contact the support and get a quick fix.
Dynamic Perspective is another thing that comes with the Fire phone. It sort 3D for the phone. Which means the content moves as you move your face. This is achieved through 4 cameras on the front, which track your movement.
One year of free Prime. This is probably the best thing that you're going to get for buying the Fire phone. It usually costs $100 per year. It gives access to a sizeable library of movies, TV shows, music, and e-books, not to mention two-day shipping on any Amazon purchases.
Amazon is also offering free unlimited photo storage and it does have a decent camera with a dedicated camera button for quick launch.

What's bad about the features?
Well it depends. I our opinion they're gimmicky. Apart from the Amazon Prime subscription, I don't think anything is actually worth it. But if you're a person who takes a lot of pictures then that unlimited cloud storage for pictures is going to be great for you. Probably the worst thing about the Fire phone is that it doesn't has Google services. What it means is that you're not going to get Google Play Store out of the box plus all the other Google apps that you would normally get on an Android device. This is definitely a huge deal breaker that's why we recommend that you stay away from this phone. Just like MKBHD said in his first impressions of the phone that it would have been a lot easier if Amazon had made some apps instead of a phone.
